Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates it. That company processes the request and supplies the response. We do not keep a separate log of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you email us, the message may be retained long enough to respond and maintain the exchange. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our systems receive routine technical information when a page loads:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. Along with analytics services, they help summarize traffic, popular pages, and common exit points. Browser controls can block or remove cookies, although parts of the website may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a submitted search to the selected outside provider
- Operating, securing, and improving website performance
- Finding technical faults and repairing them
- Measuring which resources visitors use
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of individual criminal records. The published material explains how to contact Crockett County courts and the sheriff, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and Tennessee Sexual Offender Registry. Visitor information is not compiled into consumer reports or third-party criminal files, and this operation is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the embedded search tools. Their privacy terms, retention schedules, and disclosure practices apply to data submitted there. Review the provider's policy before running a search because we do not control those rules.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to courts, law-enforcement agencies, state offices, legal resources, or commercial tools. Once you leave, the destination's privacy policy controls. Check it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers can use their own technology to measure activity across websites and select ads. That processing takes place on the provider's systems.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. It may be available to:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable safeguards protect the information we handle. No online system is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If such information comes to our attention, we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
Applicable Tennessee consumer-protection law, including the Tennessee Consumer Protection Act at T.C.A. §§47-18-101 through 47-18-130, and the Tennessee Information Protection Act may provide rights based on the circumstances. You may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
